Common questions
What is an ephemeral alias?
An alias is a tagged address on an existing inbox — e.g. [email protected]. It expires automatically after a set TTL and either deletes received emails or keeps them in place.
Do I need to configure DNS?
No. MailFork uses a single wildcard MX record. Creating a new org or team is a database row — no DNS changes, no propagation delays.
Can I use MailFork in CI/CD?
Yes. The SDK exposes waitForEmail(), waitForOtp(), and alias lifecycle management — all designed for headless test automation.
What counts as an API call?
Any request to the REST API authenticated with an API key. Polling the summary endpoint counts once per request regardless of the number of inboxes returned.
What is the org namespace?
The org namespace gives your team addresses like [email protected]. It supports multiple teams under one org and personal inboxes for each member.
Is there a free trial for Pro and Team plans?
Yes — both Pro and Team plans start with a 30-day trial, no credit card required. If you need more time, the trial can be extended — just reach out.
Are Early Access trial limits the same as the paid plan?
Not quite. During Early Access, trial accounts have reduced limits — fewer inboxes, shorter retention, and lower API call caps — to keep infrastructure stable while we scale. The limits shown on this page reflect the full paid plan. Your actual trial limits are shown inside the app on your quota dashboard.
Need a custom plan?
Enterprise plans are configured per-org. Reach out and we'll tailor quota limits, retention, and support to your needs.
